Abstract:

The article describes new data on the storm impact on the ecology of marine plankton. It has been established that in the process of strengthening the storm wind generate biophysical selection of plankton takes place depending on size, behavior and stage of development of different species. After storm the abundance of zooplankton, eggs and larvae of fish in the coastal zone become to be in several times lower. A week after the storm, the abundance of plankton is gradually restored.

Keywords: plankton, caviar, fish larvae, storm, ecology, upwelling.
