Abstract:

The article focuses on the problem of corrosion of metal surfaces and its negative impact on industry and the environment. An environmentally friendly technique for obtaining an effective corrosion inhibitor with the use of epoxidized Shea butter, modified with UV irradiation and clove oil is proposed. Clove oil has antioxidant, antiseptic and stabilizing properties due to its high eugenol content (up to 85%). These properties slow down oxidative processes, prevent biocorrosion, promote the formation of a stable protective layer on the surface of metals and maintain the effectiveness of the inhibitor even in aggressive environments. The article describes in detail the developed Shea butter modification technique, including the introduction of clove oil and UV activation, its main advantages and features, as well as the prospects for the use of the obtained inhibitor in various industries. The analysis of the physico-chemical characteristics of the initial Shea butter is carried out; an experimental sample of the inhibitor is obtained; an assessment of the anticorrosive effectiveness and environmental safety of the modified oil is performed.
