Abstract:
In order to carry out a detailed assessment and forecast of the state of atmospheric air quality, it is proposed to determine the concentrations of atmospheric impurities with a wide spatial and temporal resolution obtained from applying computational methods that have certain advantages over instrumental methods of analysis. A significant advantage of computational methods, in contrast to experimental ones, is the ability to determine concentrations at any point in the study area at present and in the future when the characteristics of stationary and mobile pollution sources change. Such calculations are a necessary tool for managing the air quality and determining the locations of stationary observation posts, including systems created using inexpensive semiconductor sensors for determining concentrations of pollutants combined with a weather station module for joint environmental and climate monitoring. The paper analyzes the summary calculations of pollutant dispersion in one of the anthropogenic zones of the coastal territory of the Crimean Peninsula. The data of the calculation results were compared with those of instrumental monitoring carried out by” Meteodozor” complex developed by Sevastopol State University. Based on the data analysis, conclusions were drawn about the expediency of using the methodology for determining pollutant concentrations, taking into account the terrain features of the coastal territory, and adjusting the location of observation posts, based on systems created using inexpensive semiconductor sensors.
