On October 31, 2022, Gaisky Vitaly Alexandrovich, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Environmental Control Systems”, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Chief Researcher and Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Natural and Technical Systems, a well-known scientist in the field of marine scientific and environmental instrumentation and measuring information technologies.
Vitaly Alexandrovich made a significant contribution to the creation of 9 generations of domestic oceanographic instruments and automated systems implemented on research ships.
He has published more than 330 scientific papers, including 7 fundamental monographs. He is the author of 75 inventions. Vitaly Alexandrovich continues to work actively. Over the past 5 years, he has published over 30 papers, including 3 monographs and 7 patents. They summarize the results of the development of promising methods and tools for temperature measurements in the sea by point and distributed modulated sensors with dynamic error correction based on original algorithms, describe modern approaches to measuring the profiles of hydrophysical characteristics with their decomposition in orthogonal functions, propose methods and devices for direct measurement of local density of sea water in deep-sea instruments. In the development of marine measuring information technologies, V.A. Gaisky proposed: a variant of multidimensional harmonic analysis with separation of variables, wide-format spectral analysis with spectrum spreading by the anti-aliasing procedure, packet sampling of signals, analytical relationship between the reliability and accuracy of environmental monitoring systems.
The invention of a temperature meter with three different inertial sensors and dynamic correction received a gold medal at the XIV International Salon of Inventions and New Technologies “New Time”, which took place on September 27–29, 2018.
Professor V.A. Gaisky takes an active part in the industrial life of the institute, manages the scientific direction and laboratory, participates in the work of the Academic and Dissertation Councils, in organizing and holding the annual International Scientific and Practical Conference “Environmental Control Systems”.
The editorial board sincerely wishes Vitaly Alexandrovich Gaisky health, longevity, success in his scientific work and happiness in his personal life.
