Spatial variability of the emission intensity and the concentration of chlorophyll of phytoplankton community in waters of the black sea in october-november 2010

Abstract:

   The spatial variability of the luminescence intensity of the phytoplankton community and changes in chlorophyll a concentration in the surface layer of the Black Sea along the Crimean coast in the autumn period has been investigated. A high correlation (r = 0.83) between changes in the surface concentration of chlorophyll a and vertical changes in the emission intensity of the phytoplankton community was confirmed. The influence of regional mesoscale vortex formations on the changes in the intensity of emission of the phytoplankton community is explained.
